Sales Engineer

As a Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing project opportunities from initial pursuit through project award and handover. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage opportunities throughout the full sales and pre-construction lifecycle
  • Lead proposal development and coordinate competitive bid submissions
  • Drive collaboration between engineering, estimating, operations, and business development teams
  • Develop technical and commercial responses for customers
  • Support pricing strategies, negotiations, and contract discussions
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Manage ongoing client communications throughout active pursuits
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business and additional project work
  • Partner with business development professionals to maximise project success
  • Maintain ownership of pursuits through project award
  • Coordinate proposal schedules, deadlines, and internal resources
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service and commercial support

The ideal Sales Engineer will bring a combination of technical expertise, commercial awareness, and strong relationship management skills. Requirements include:

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering strongly preferred
  • Experience working within utility, power, infrastructure, energy, engineering, or construction environments
  • Background within utility companies, engineering firms, engineering procurement and construction organisations, contractors, or industrial businesses
  • Previous experience managing projects, proposals, bids, or customer-facing technical engagements
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to build long-term client relationships
  • Commercial mindset with interest in sales and business development activities
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Up to $160,000 base salary
