- Review customer applications, equipment specifications, operating requirements, and project details to develop technically accurate and commercially viable proposals.
- Perform engineering and design calculations as needed to support aftermarket applications and determine appropriate equipment requirements.
- Develop preliminary budgetary pricing and abbreviated proposals to help qualify potential projects before committing the resources required for a detailed quotation.
- Prepare detailed proposals and quotations that accurately reflect project scope, pricing, lead times, customer requirements, applicable codes, and company standards.
- Develop accurate project costs and establish selling prices in accordance with established margin objectives and direction from management.
- Maintain complete and accurate proposal templates, pricing information, and related documentation.
- Review quoted and completed project margins and provide financial analysis when requested, particularly when actual results vary from expectations.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and other internal departments to resolve technical issues, develop solutions, and ensure projects are practical to manufacture and execute.
- Provide technical information and project support to departments including engineering, marketing, legal, and other internal stakeholders as needed.
- Enter and process customer purchase orders through ERP and CRM systems, including BPCS/AS400 and Salesforce.
- Participate in industry meetings, trade shows, seminars, product training, and other professional development activities to remain current on technologies, components, and industry developments.
- Occasionally travel to customer facilities to review applications, assess equipment, or meet with customers and sales representatives regarding potential projects.
- Follow up directly with customers on projects handled without an outside sales representative, confirming proposal receipt, addressing questions, and actively supporting the sales process through completion.
- Ensure proposed solutions comply with applicable codes and company standards for quality, profitability, and manufacturability.
- Maintain awareness of new industry technologies, components, repair methods, and design approaches that could improve existing products and aftermarket solutions.
- Follow established safety procedures, quality standards, housekeeping requirements, and company policies.
