About the Company (minus the client name)

Our client is an emerging advisory firm helping middle-market companies, private equity firms, and M&A professionals determine whether business value will successfully transfer through a transaction. The firm focuses on an often-overlooked area of diligence: whether the people, workflows, operating knowledge, and execution capabilities responsible for creating value will remain effective after a deal closes. Using evidence-based analysis and modern AI-enabled approaches, the company helps sophisticated buyers and sellers identify risks that traditional financial, legal, and commercial diligence may not uncover. The organization is early-stage, entrepreneurial, and focused on establishing a new standard for protecting value during business transitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and prioritize target lists across private equity firms, independent sponsors, M&A advisors, QoE firms, wealth advisors, exit planners, and other deal-professional networks.
  • Develop Florida-first referral channels and convert relationships and introductions into qualified meetings.
  • Own the top of the sales pipeline from initial relationship development through qualification and executive handoff.
  • Qualify opportunities across Seller, Buyer, and Owner engagement lanes and quickly identify opportunities that are not a fit.
  • Prepare detailed executive handoffs covering deal stage, referral source, potential dependency risks, and buyer priorities.
  • Develop creative channel, networking, and outreach strategies alongside the Founder.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline data that leadership can rely on.
  • Use modern AI tools to improve prospect research, meeting preparation, follow-up, and business development efficiency.
  • Gather and communicate market intelligence regarding diligence gaps, key-person risk, operating-model transferability, and emerging buyer concerns.
  • Build referral relationships that generate ongoing introductions and opportunities.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • 7–10+ years of business development, deal origination, senior sales development, or related experience; strong candidates with 7–8 years may qualify.
  • Direct exposure to Private Equity, M&A, investment banking, value creation, or other deal-adjacent environments.
  • Strong understanding of deal terminology and concepts such as EBITDA durability, Quality of Earnings (QoE), hold periods, multiple defense, and diligence workflows.
  • Strong AI and business technology knowledge with active use of modern AI tools.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and generate opportunities with sophisticated executive-level buyers.
  • Strong business writing skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Self-directed and comfortable reporting directly to a Founder with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to build and manage a pipeline through relationships, referrals, networking, and strategic outreach.
  • Florida residency and willingness to travel regularly throughout the state.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Existing network within private equity, M&A, investment banking, deal-professional, exit-planning, or technology leadership communities.
  • Experience working for a diligence provider, advisory firm, PE-facing professional services organization, or technology company selling to sophisticated buyers.
  • Exposure to exit planning, operating partner environments, or AI-driven operating-model transformation.
  • Experience developing referral channels and strategic partnerships.
  • Experience selling a new or emerging solution where the market requires education before purchase.
  • Executive presence and the ability to engage credibly with founders, investors, advisors, and senior business leaders.
  • Experience and depth of knowledge are valued over a specific degree.
