The Opportunity
As an SDR, you will engage in our lead generation strategy that focuses on research, outreach, prospecting, outbound demand generation, inbound, and lead qualification via all our social media and market intelligence platforms. This position will help turn leads into qualified opportunities by partnering with marketing and sales to create and execute on program and outbound lead generation campaigns. This will be accomplished by conducting a mix of communication tactics such as email and outbound calls, with the ultimate goal of uncovering new or existing sales leads as well as identifying and generating sales opportunities through both inbound and outbound calling activities.
Reporting to the Sales Development Team Lead, you’ll work cross functionally with sales, marketing, and engineering, and as one of the first people a prospect speaks with, you’ll set the tone for the sales cycle that follows.
This is a hybrid role, with an expected 2–3 days per week in our Canton office and the remainder working from home. Travel is minimal.
What You’ll Do
Follow up on inbound marketing leads and qualify interest through phone and email conversations, giving prospects the right information at the right time.
Build target prospect lists, penetrate key accounts, and cold call prospects sourced from a range of channels.
Profile strategic accounts, identify key decision makers, and research business requirements to start the sales cycle.
Run discovery and qualification calls and deliver high level, solution oriented presentations on Gallagher products and services.
Understand each prospect’s needs and tailor your outreach to suit.
Nurture leads until they’re ready to speak with a Business Development Manager or Regional Sales Manager, then set appointments, schedule on-site demos, and hand off qualified opportunities.
Drive attendance at webinars and live seminars and set meetings for conferences.
Keep accurate prospect, activity, and lead qualification records in our CRM to ensure strong follow through.
Share feedback and new ideas to continually improve our sales development process.
Build your knowledge of the access control, perimeter protection, and intrusion detection markets, and clearly articulate the value Gallagher Security brings.
Shadow Business Development Managers and, when needed, travel with Outside Sales to meet in-region partners and end users.
What You’ll Bring
You’re a confident, energetic communicator who enjoys starting conversations, thinks outside the box, and brings real tenacity to reaching your goals.
2+ years of successful experience in inside sales, demand generation, telemarketing, and/or customer service.
A four year college degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience; a bachelor’s degree in business or a related area is preferred.
Demonstrated success in prospecting and experience using CRM systems; experience with sales outreach platforms is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication, strong active listening, emotional intelligence, and a positive, energetic phone presence.
The ability to explain complex issues clearly and hold relaxed but informative two way conversations with prospects.
The ability to manage multiple requests and priorities at once while achieving goals for your territory or accounts.
A self-motivated approach and sense of urgency. You act without waiting to be told and work well under pressure.
A team player mindset, with the flexibility to work independently and collaborate with a distributed sales team in a fast paced, changing environment.
High integrity, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to building a successful company.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
