We are seeking a polished and motivated Sales Consultant to join a premier luxury showroom serving architects, interior designers, contractors, builders, and discerning homeowners throughout the Washington, D.C. market.
In this role, you'll blend consultative sales expertise with relationship-driven business development, guiding clients through the selection process while expanding your network within the design and construction industry. This is an opportunity to represent a curated portfolio of high-end products and become a trusted resource for clients working on exceptional residential and commercial projects.
What You'll Do
Deliver an elevated showroom experience by consulting with clients and helping bring their design visions to life.
Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, interior designers, builders, contractors, and homeowners.
Proactively generate new business through networking, industry events, outreach, and relationship-building within the local design community.
Manage and grow a portfolio of accounts while identifying opportunities for increased sales and client engagement.
Develop tailored product solutions that align with project goals, budgets, and aesthetic objectives.
Maintain detailed records of client interactions, opportunities, and project pipelines using CRM and sales management tools.
Stay informed on industry trends, design innovations, and product offerings to serve as a trusted advisor.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from specification through project completion.
Qualifications
3+ years of inside sales, outside sales, business development, or showroom sales experience.
Experience working with luxury products, high-end residential projects, design-focused clientele, or premium consumer brands.
Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales goals and revenue targets.
Proven ability to develop new business and cultivate long-term client relationships.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Consultative selling approach with excellent listening and problem-solving abilities.
Skilled negotiator with the ability to influence decisions and close opportunities.
Self-starter who thrives in a relationship-driven environment and can effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
Experience in plumbing, tile, kitchen & bath, architectural products, luxury furnishings, building materials, or related industries is highly preferred.
Ability to spend up to 50% of the workweek outside the showroom developing business and nurturing industry relationships.
