    Job Summary:

    The Sales Application Engineer will serve customers as a “Voice of Sierra” via phone, through chat and the internet for Sierra’s products and services while upholding Sierra’s core values of Quality, Delivery, Price, Innovation and Customer Support. The Sales Application Engineer will collaborate with Sierra’s teams of Technical Support Specialists, Product Engineers, Service, Calibration and Quality Technicians, while interacting with Sierra’s customers, Sierra’s sales force, and all Sierra internal departments.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Answer phones, emails, skypes, texts, and chats regarding technical or repair issues, both pre- and post-sale to both internal and external customers
    • Coordinate additional technical support through other employees and vendor technicians to support customers
    • Track warranty issues and customer complaints, trend them, propose corrective actions and take personal responsibility for solving the quality problem.
    • Write warranty reports and follow technical issues, reporting to Product Teams
    • Provide repair/calibration quotations to the Service Department and technical advice as needed.
    • Interact with Engineering, Calibration, and Assembly to solve technical and documentation issues.
    • Support customers with technical, repair and calibration information
    • Assist with all technical and sales issues and enter sales and service orders when needed
    • Suggest new product and feature development based on customer feedback
    • Create customer technical tools, videos and literature to train and problem solve

     

    Qualifications:

    • Trade School, AA Degree (or equivalent) with 2-4 years prior experience in a customer service role in a technical, consultative environment.
    • Previous experience with electronics/mechanical assembly, troubleshooting and repair
    • Digicom, programming and network field or manufacturing experience is a plus (Modbus, Profibus DP, Ethernet, Foundation Fieldbus, and HART for example)

    • A high level of flexibility including the power to adapt to different situations and customer personalities

    Physical Demands:

    • Physical Demand(s): Can lift up to 10 lbs, sitting and stand for reasonable periods of time
    • Visual Demand(s): Ability to look at a computer monitor for reasonable periods of time
    • Hazard(s): Manufacturing environment
    • Travel: Possibility of travel up to 10%

    Pay Transparency:

    We are committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation practices. The compensation range for this position is $80,000- $125,000, depending on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

    In addition to base compensation, this role includes a comprehensive benefit package which may include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
