Position Summary

The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sales and marketing initiatives that increase revenue, customer traffic, brand awareness, and profitability across the restaurant organization.

This position combines local restaurant marketing, sales development, community engagement, catering and group sales, promotional execution, and performance analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with restaurant managers and operations leadership to identify sales opportunities and ensure marketing programs translate into measurable store-level results.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, results-oriented professional who understands restaurant operations and knows how to turn local marketing activities into incremental sales.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Growth & Business Development

  • Develop strategies to increase sales and customer traffic across assigned restaurants.
  • Identify opportunities to increase frequency, average check, catering sales, group orders, and new customer acquisition.
  • Establish relationships with local businesses, schools, churches, community organizations, sports teams, hospitals, offices, and other organizations.
  • Develop recurring catering and group-order accounts.
  • Create sales outreach programs for underperforming restaurants.
  • Track sales leads, opportunities, conversion rates, and revenue generated.
  • Develop strategies to increase sales during traditionally slower dayparts and periods.
  • Work with restaurant managers to establish store-specific sales goals.

2. Local Store Marketing

  • Develop and execute localized marketing plans for individual restaurants.
  • Coordinate reopening campaigns, community events, and promotional activities.
  • Develop grassroots marketing initiatives that increase awareness within each restaurant's trade area.
  • Coordinate local partnerships and cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Develop programs that drive traffic from nearby businesses, schools, residential communities, and organizations.
  • Ensure marketing initiatives are appropriate for each restaurant's local market.

3. Digital & Social Media Marketing

  • Manage and coordinate local social media campaigns.
  • Work with corporate/franchise marketing resources to implement brand-approved campaigns.
  • Develop local content and promotional messaging.
  • Monitor online customer engagement, reviews, ratings, and feedback.
  • Coordinate digital advertising campaigns when appropriate.
  • Evaluate digital campaign performance and recommend changes based on results.
  • Ensure restaurants maintain accurate and up-to-date online listings, promotions, hours, and contact information.

4. Promotions & Campaign Management

  • Develop, coordinate, and measure promotional campaigns designed to increase sales.
  • Work with operations to ensure promotions are properly executed at the restaurant level.
  • Analyze promotional performance and determine whether campaigns generate incremental sales.
  • Recommend changes to pricing, offers, promotions, and marketing tactics based on performance.
  • Maintain a calendar of marketing initiatives, community events, promotions, and sales activities.
  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with franchise and brand requirements.

5. Community & Relationship Development

  • Represent the restaurant organization within local communities.
  • Build relationships with community leaders, businesses, schools, organizations, and event coordinators.
  • Identify sponsorship and partnership opportunities that provide measurable business value.
  • Coordinate restaurant participation in community events.
  • Develop programs that position the restaurants as active members of their communities.
  • Identify opportunities to generate repeat business through community partnerships.

6. Restaurant Support

  • Work directly with General Managers and restaurant leadership to identify sales opportunities.
  • Visit restaurants regularly to evaluate marketing execution and customer-facing materials.
  • Ensure stores have the appropriate marketing materials and promotional signage.
  • Train restaurant management teams on local sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Provide managers with practical tools and programs they can execute at the store level.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure marketing programs do not negatively impact restaurant execution or profitability.

7. Analytics & Performance Management

  • Establish measurable objectives for marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Track sales performance before, during, and after campaigns.
  • Analyze sales trends by restaurant, daypart, product category, promotion, and customer segment.
  • Measure return on marketing investment (ROMI).
  • Prepare regular sales and marketing performance reports for leadership.
  • Identify underperforming campaigns and recommend corrective action.
  • Use data to determine which marketing activities should be expanded, modified, or discontinued.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5 years of experience in sales, marketing, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate measurable sales growth.
  • Strong understanding of local restaurant marketing.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales and financial information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Willingness to travel between restaurant locations.

Preferred

  • Multi-unit restaurant experience.
  • QSR or fast-casual experience.
  • Franchise restaurant experience.
  • Experience with catering
  • Experience with social media and digital marketing.
  • Experience with CRM, email marketing, loyalty programs, or restaurant technology platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Hospitality, Communications, or related field.

Compensation

Base Salary: $60,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Performance Incentive: Eligible for an annual/quarterly performance bonus tied to measurable sales growth, catering/business development, and marketing ROI. Max annual bonus: $10,000

Position Expectations

This is a hands-on field position. The Sales & Marketing Manager is expected to spend significant time in restaurants and in the local communities surrounding the company's locations rather than functioning exclusively from a corporate office. This is NOT a virtual or work from home position.

The position should operate with a strong "sales first" mentality: marketing activity is successful only when it contributes to increased customer traffic, revenue, customer frequency, or profitability.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish clear objectives, execute consistently, measure results, and continually improve the organization's sales and marketing programs.
