    Location: Victorville, CA

    Pay: $23–$25 per hour


    About the Opportunity

    Gecko Hospitality is partnering with a select-service hotel in Victorville, California to identify an experienced Sales & Events Manager. This is a hands-on sales position focused on generating revenue through group rooms, meetings, events, corporate accounts, and locally negotiated business throughout the Victorville and High Desert markets.

    The Sales & Events Manager will own the sales process from prospecting and initial inquiry through contracting, event coordination, execution, billing, and follow-up. This role is ideal for a proactive hospitality sales professional who enjoys developing local business relationships while remaining closely involved in the successful execution of meetings and events.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Proactively identify, solicit, and secure group rooms, meetings, events, corporate accounts, and locally negotiated business
    • Conduct outside sales calls, telephone and email prospecting, networking, site visits, and community outreach
    • Develop relationships with local companies, government and military organizations, healthcare providers, educational institutions, sports groups, event planners, and other demand generators
    • Maintain and grow existing accounts while continually developing new business opportunities
    • Respond promptly to incoming sales and event inquiries and convert qualified leads into confirmed bookings
    • Conduct hotel tours and site inspections showcasing guest rooms, meeting spaces, amenities, and services
    • Prepare proposals, contracts, group agreements, and professional client communications
    • Negotiate rates, meeting-room rental, food and beverage minimums, concessions, and contract terms within established guidelines
    • Manage group room blocks, cutoff dates, rooming lists, billing arrangements, deposits, and special requests
    • Coordinate meetings and events from initial planning through onsite execution and final billing
    • Prepare and communicate event details, including room setups, timelines, food and beverage needs, audiovisual requirements, and special requests
    • Partner with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and hotel leadership to ensure seamless execution
    • Maintain accurate sales activity, account production, booking, and event records
    • Conduct post-event and post-stay follow-up to strengthen client relationships and generate repeat business
    • Represent the hotel at networking events, community activities, trade shows, and client functions as needed

    Ideal Experience

    • 2+ years of hotel sales, event planning, catering sales, hospitality sales, or related business development experience
    • Previous hotel sales and event management experience strongly preferred
    • Experience selling group guest rooms, meeting space, food and beverage, and social events
    • Proven ability to prospect for new business and convert inquiries into confirmed bookings
    • Strong account management, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
    • Experience preparing proposals, contracts, event documents, and professional client communications
    • Excellent organization and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple accounts, events, and deadlines
    • Experience with hotel property management, sales, catering, CRM, or event management systems preferred
    • Marriott or comparable select-service hotel experience is a plus
    • Knowledge of the Victorville, High Desert, or Inland Empire business and event markets is preferred
    • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays based on client and hotel needs
