Overview

The PCS department has over 6,000 pieces of equipment (Pumps, Scrubbers, and Chillers) and approximately 8,500 units of auxiliary equipment and piping which require maintenance and upkeep. We have over 120 contractors on site that perform maintenance on equipment 24x7. PCS Safety is responsible for ensuring all PCS Employees and Vendors follow SAS EHS and PCS guidelines for safe work in accordance with established SOPs. A qualified candidate must be capable of working in a team environment on the cleanroom floor in a full cleanroom smock. The ideal candidate in addition to being a safety expert will have basic knowledge and mechanical skills to comprehend work done on PCS equipment.

Pay: $28 - $35

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position.   A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct behavior based safety observations and train other employees and managers in this skill to ensure that safety and operations integrity is demonstrated.
  • Lead regularly scheduled safety audits, risk assessments, inspections, and meetings to determine the effectiveness of safety and incident prevention activities, and to ensure compliance with all applicable safety directives.
  • Facilitate implementation of safe work techniques and effective safety methods and processes.
  • Perform safety drills with team quarterly to increase and improve safety awareness.
  • Lead and execute injury prevention efforts that focus on addressing unsafe behaviors and establishing safety as a core value within all PCS vendors and employees.
  • Conduct accident investigations, identify root causes and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
  • Attend weekly safety meetings.
  • Demonstrate a visible commitment to safety and operational integrity to every employee.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety, health and environmental regulations at all levels of government, including federal, state and local and possess the ability to evaluate, document and report on compliance with policies, procedures, rules and regulations to ensure operational compliance.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly training with team(s).
  • Stop work if safety guidelines are not properly followed.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Associates degree
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a safety technician.
  • Hazmat experience.
  • Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, time management, documentation, and reporting skill

Preferred Skills & Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates competency and willingness to follow SOP
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrates understanding of LEAN methodologies
  • Support SAS Operations team for critical pump changes
  • Conduct CPM using helium leak check
  • Reliable and punctual attendance required

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while wearing full cleanroom attire.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 11 hours per shift).
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.
