Safety Technician

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Evansville, IN area. Our client is seeking a Safety Technician to support day-to-day safety in the shop and field.

Position Responsibilities:

- Support daily safety activities in the fabrication shop and on job sites

- Perform safety inspections and identify hazards

- Help deliver safety orientations and toolbox talks

- Maintain safety records, training logs, and documentation

- Assist with incident reporting and investigations

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Conduct shop and jobsite safety walks and audits

- Check PPE, equipment, fall protection, and rigging gear

- Track employee training and certifications

- Help maintain OSHA logs and safety reports

- Follow up on corrective actions with supervisors

Position Skills:

- 1+ years of safety experience in construction, steel erection, or manufacturing

- OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred

- Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations

- Strong communication and attention to detail

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
