PRIMARY DUTIES Serve as the primary field safety representative for assigned SWCP projectsConduct regular and unannounced jobsite safety inspections and observationsEvaluate jobsite conditions, work practices, equipment, and operations to identify existing and potential safety hazardsEnsure compliance with SWCP safety policies, OSHA regulations, EM 385 requirements, contract requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulationsWork directly with Project Superintendents, foremen, and field personnel to identify hazards and implement practical corrective actionsProvide guidance and direction to field personnel regarding safe work practices, required protective measures, and applicable safety requirementsRequire timely correction of unsafe conditions and practices and verify that corrective actions have been completedExercise stop-work authority when an imminent or serious safety hazard exists and communicate the issue to appropriate project and company managementConduct and/or participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and other safety trainingAssist project personnel with the development, implementation, and maintenance of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Site Safety Plans, and other required safety documentationReview AHAs, work plans, and planned construction activities to identify potential hazards and ensure appropriate controls are established before work beginsMonitor high-risk activities including heavy equipment operations, concrete paving, material handling, excavation, lifting operations, traffic control, work around aircraft and active airfields, and other construction activitiesMonitor compliance with requirements for personal protective equipment, fall protection, confined spaces, excavation and trenching, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, traffic control, equipment operation, and other applicable safety programsInspect construction equipment, vehicles, tools, and work areas for safety compliance and identify deficiencies requiring correctionParticipate in accident, incident, near-miss, and property damage investigations and assist in determining corrective actionsMaintain required safety records, inspection reports, training records, incident documentation, and other project safety documentationAssist with preparation and submission of required safety reports and documentation to project management, owners, and government agenciesInterface with government safety representatives, including USACE, NAVFAC, Air Force, and other owner representatives as requiredMonitor project conditions, schedules, materials, and construction methods to identify changes that may create new or additional safety hazardsParticipate in project safety planning and prepare for upcoming work phases and high-risk activitiesConduct safety orientations and assist with onboarding and training of new field personnelInspect and track fire extinguishers used on jobsite equipment. Track safety observations, deficiencies, corrective actions, and trends and communicate significant issues to managementProvide feedback to project supervision regarding safety performance and opportunities for improvementPromote a culture of safety, accountability, quality, and integrity throughout the organizationSupervise assigned safety personnel and provide direction, training, and performance feedbackPerfrom other duties as assignedBACKGROUND Must be willing to travel up to 75%Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, and/or weekendsValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordCurrent OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification requiredCurrent EM 385-1-1 / USACE safety training or equivalent requiredAdditional safety certifications such as Competent Person, First Aid/CPR, OSHA 510, STS, CHST, or CSP are preferredAbility to obtain additional safety certifications and training as requiredAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

We believe that teamwork and communication is the way to achieve these goals, and we seek like-minded individuals who want to become part of a successful team.POSITION SCOPE The Safety Supervisor is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Southwest Concrete Paving's safety program across active construction projects. This position is primarily field-based and requires regular travel to jobsites to evaluate working conditions, identify potential hazards, implement corrective measures, and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, EM 385 requirements, contract requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Safety Supervisor works closely with project management, superintendents, foremen, and field personnel to promote safe work practices and ensure that safety requirements are incorporated into daily operations. TRAVEL IS REQUIRED. The Safety Supervisor serves as the primary field safety representative, often operating independently while coordinating across multiple projects, crews, and levels of supervision. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable working in the field, can recognize hazards before they become incidents, communicates effectively with all levels of personnel, and is willing and able to take appropriate action when unsafe conditions or practices are identified. The Safety Supervisor has the authority and responsibility to require correction of unsafe conditions and practices and, when necessary, to recommend or direct the suspension of work until unsafe conditions are corrected. before start dateMinimum of 3–5 years of construction safety experience, preferably in heavy civil, concrete paving, military construction, or other heavy construction environmentsExperience working
