Description

Job Summary:
The Safety Specialist supports the organization’s health and safety efforts by identifying hazards, conducting inspections, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a safe work environment. This role works closely with management and employees to prevent accidents, reduce workplace risks, and maintain safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits
  • Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses
  • Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures
  • Lead safety training sessions and educate employees on best practices
  • Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain safety records, logs, and compliance documentation
  • Assist in emergency preparedness planning and response drills
  • Collaborate with supervisors and departments to improve safety culture
  • Track safety performance metrics and suggest improvements
  • Monthly collection of storm water and reporting to plan

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in workplace safety, risk management, or compliance
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations
  • Strong investigation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and training abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems
