About the role:

The Safety Specialist will perform full-time onsite construction safety related duties on datacenter builds throughout the United States. Prior safety experience is required. Immediate hiring needs are located in the cities listed below. Additional projects and needs will continue to grow across other locations throughout the US.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as an owners representative for safety
• Duties as required by 1926 OSHA Standards for Construction
• Ensure compliance for the safety of site workers and general public
• Develop safety kick-off presentations and conduct on-site orientations and pre-shift meetings
• Conduct daily site safety inspections, safety assessments and safety audits
• Investigate incidents and complete associated paperwork
• Conduct risk assessments
• Make recommendations concerning the modification, improvement, or removal of any company equipment, facilities, or machinery that is hazardous to employee safety or health
• Compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports as requested by management or customer
• Serve as company liaison with overseeing municipalities, OSHA, Insurance carriers and other regulatory agencies
• Maintain all safety related documentation

Education/Qualifications:

• Fluent in English, written and verbal
• OSHA 30 Hr. for Construction
• 5-7 years minimum Safety Experience
• BCSP Board Certified
• Collegiate Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or equivalent
• Ability to teach and train others on safety programs (required)
• Ability to identify known potential exposures and recommending corrective action
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Technological competency

• Datacenter project:- A minimum of 7 years construction safety experience (projects related to high voltage electrical safety are preferred)- If a college degree in EHS is present, then the candidate may only require 5 years of construction safety experience- They must have the ability to utilize technology (internet, email, Microsoft office suite)- They must be able to physically maneuver a project site (climb ladders, walk the entire site, etc)- They must have solid/clear conversational skills- Competency in ISO 45001
  • Expertise in risk assessment and classification

Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in EHS or a related field strongly preferred

• 7–10 years of progressive EHS experience

• Experience with industrial utilities, wastewater treatment, demolition, construction, startup, or commissioning

• Strong knowledge of LOTO, confined spaces, hazardous chemicals, excavation, cranes/rigging, hot work, and emergency response

• Environmental compliance and spill-prevention experience strongly preferred

• Experience overseeing contractors and driving corrective actions through closure

• Strong field presence, technical judgment, communication, and report-writing skills

• Data center, advanced manufacturing, or large industrial construction experience strongly preferred

• CSP, CHST, ASP, OSHA 30, or HAZWOPER certification preferred

• Approximately 70% field-based and 30% administrative/coordination work

What we offer:

This project-based opportunity has full-time potential. The current project will be a 6 months, The schedule will vary, however, the expectation for the position is 40 hours weekly. This is a 1099 contract ($500 allowance per week for those outside of 75-mile radius); depending on experience, and ranges from $50-55 per hour NO Overtime.
