Safety Specialist

Location: Phoenix, AZ 85027
Type: Full-Time

Are you passionate about creating safer workplaces and making a visible impact in the field? We are seeking a Safety Advisor who thrives on building strong relationships, coaching teams, and driving a culture of safety excellence across active construction projects.

In this role, you'll serve as a trusted safety resource for field teams, helping ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. You'll spend significant time in the field conducting site visits, observing work activities, coaching employees, supporting incident investigations, and helping teams identify and resolve safety concerns before they become issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct jobsite inspections, safety observations, and behavioral safety reviews

  • Coach supervisors, foremen, and crews on safe work practices

  • Track corrective actions and verify timely completion

  • Assist with incident and near-miss investigations, reporting, and lessons learned

  • Review safety documentation and support OSHA compliance efforts

  • Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and new hire orientations

  • Support PPE, fleet, equipment, and driver safety compliance programs

  • Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of construction safety experience required

  • High School Diploma required; Associate degree in Safety or related field preferred

  • OSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain during onboarding)

  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred

  • Strong communication, training, coaching, and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and strong field presence
