    About the Role


    Stocks General Contractors is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to support and oversee safety across our underground utility and civil construction projects.


    This role is critical to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working closely with field teams to enforce safety standards and reduce risk across job sites.


    What You’ll Do


    Monitor job site activities to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
    Conduct safety inspections, audits, and job site evaluations
    Lead safety meetings and provide training to field employees
    Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses
    Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation
    Identify risks and implement corrective actions
    Support field leadership in maintaining safe work environments
    Promote a culture of safety accountability across all teams


    What We’re Looking For


    • Experience in construction safety, preferably in civil or underground utility work
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations
    • Ability to communicate effectively with field teams and management
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Ability to identify risks and implement practical safety solutions
    • Experience working on active construction job sites
    • Familiarity with trenching, excavation, and confined space safety


    Preferred

    Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus


    Certifications Required


    OSHA 30-Hour Certification
    Relevant safety certification


    Physical Requirements


    Ability to walk job sites and conduct field inspections
    Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
    Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed


    Schedule & Pay


    Full-Time | Salary
    Monday–Friday (project-based hours; flexibility required)
    Competitive pay based on experience
