SAFETY MANAGERSteel Erection | Large-Scale Data Center Construction Location: Sterling, Virginia Start Date: July 29, 2026 Project Duration: Approximately 3 Months Employment Type: 1099 ContractorJOIN A HIGH-PROFILE DATA CENTER PROJECTWe are seeking an experienced Safety Manager with strong steel erection expertise to provide full-time, on-site safety leadership for a large-scale data center construction project in Sterling, Virginia.This is a fast-moving, field-focused assignment requiring a confident safety professional who understands the hazards associated with steel erection, elevated work, material handling, and simultaneous construction operations.The selected contractor will work directly with project leadership, field supervision, trade partners, and craft personnel to identify hazards, reinforce safe work practices, and maintain compliance with OSHA, client, and site-specific safety requirements.COMPENSATION Contractor Rate: $50-$55 per hour Overtime: Paid at 1.3x the base rate for hours worked over 40 Pay Frequency: Weekly Per Diem: Not availableLocal candidates and professionals able to work in Sterling without per diem are strongly encouraged to apply.PROJECT SCHEDULE Hours: Approximately 50-60 hours per week Schedule: Monday-Friday, with Saturdays as needed Shift: Day ShiftCandidates must be prepared to support extended hours as project activity and site demands increase.PROJECT SCOPEThe Safety Manager will serve as the primary safety resource for active steel erection operations on a large-scale data center construction site.This individual will maintain a consistent field presence, monitor ongoing work, identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, and work with site leadership to implement immediate corrective actions.Key areas of oversight may include:Steel erection and structural assembly activitiesFall protection and elevated workCrane, rigging, and material-handling operationsAerial lifts and mobile equipmentControlled access zones and restricted work areasPre-task planning and job hazard analysisContractor and trade-partner complianceSimultaneous operations in a fast-paced construction environmentKEY RESPONSIBILITIESMonitor daily field activities for compliance with OSHA, client, and project-specific safety requirementsConduct routine jobsite inspections, audits, and hazard assessmentsProvide direct safety oversight for steel erection activitiesIdentify hazards and implement corrective and preventive measuresReview pre-task plans, job hazard analyses, and high-risk work activitiesLead toolbox talks, safety meetings, orientations, and field trainingSupport incident reporting, investigations, root-cause analysis, and follow-up actionsPartner with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and craft personnelTrack safety observations, corrective actions, incidents, and leading indicatorsMaintain accurate and timely safety documentation and reportsReinforce accountability while promoting a proactive, solutions-focused safety cultureREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 511 Certification Proven experience supporting steel erection projects Construction safety management experience on active commercial or industrial projects Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety requirements Experience conducting site audits, inspections, and incident investigations Working knowledge of fall protection, elevated work, rigging, cranes, and material handling Ability to communicate effectively with project leadership and field personnel Strong documentation, reporting, and follow-through skills Availability to work 50-60 hours per week and Saturdays when requiredPREFERRED EXPERIENCE Data center or mission-critical construction experience Experience managing safety across multiple trades and simultaneous operations Strong understanding of steel erection planning and high-risk activity controls Demonstrated ability to influence field performance and drive corrective actionCORE SAFETY EXPERTISEConstruction Safety Management | Steel Erection Safety | OSHA Compliance | Fall Protection | Hazard Recognition | Incident Investigation | Root-Cause Analysis | Site Auditing | Safety Training | Contractor Coordination | Corrective Action Management | Safety Documentation | Field LeadershipREADY TO MAKE AN IMMEDIATE IMPACT?This project begins July 29, 2026, and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply immediately.
