Project Scope
The Safety Manager will provide onsite safety oversight for an electrical subcontractor supporting a large-scale data center construction project in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, NFPA 70E requirements, and site-specific safety protocols throughout all phases of electrical work.
The position requires active field presence, daily safety engagement with crews, and coordination with project leadership to proactively identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and maintain a strong safety culture. The Safety Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for electrical safety on site.

Qualifications
OSHA 510 Certification
NFPA 70E Training
Proven electrical construction experience
Prior safety oversight experience on commercial or industrial projects

Additional Requirements
Ability to work 60-70 hours per week
Ability to work onsite for the full project duration
Strong documentation and reporting skills
Ability to enforce safety standards consistently in the field

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily safety oversight for electrical subcontractor activities
  • Conduct job hazard analyses and field safety audits
  • Enforce OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety policies
  • Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports
  • Coordinate with project management and site safety teams
