Job Summary
The Safety Manager plays a critical role supporting a dedicated project site in El Paso, TX, working closely with a sister company of the QC Ecosystem. Reporting directly to the Safety Director and Site Project Manager, this role is responsible for owning day-to-day safety execution, compliance, and field engagement on a single mission-critical project site.
This position is highly field-focused, acting as the on-site safety authority, ensuring all work is performed safely, compliantly, and in alignment with company and regulatory standards.
The role also serves as a key educational resource to field teams, helping reinforce not just what needs to be done, but why it matters in a high-risk, mission-critical environment.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the primary on-site safety lead for a dedicated project in El Paso, TX.
- Conduct daily and weekly field safety inspections, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks.
- Ensure job site compliance with OSHA, EM 385, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards.
- Act as the owner’s safety representative, partnering closely with general contractors, subcontractors, and field crews.
- Lead and support incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
- Review and audit field safety documentation, including JHAs/JSAs, permit processes, and compliance logs.
- Deliver on-site safety education and coaching, focusing on PPE usage, safe work practices, and continuous improvement.
- Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety programs such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Fall Protection, and Confined Space procedures.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to leadership on site conditions, trends, risk areas, and recommended actions.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in construction safety, preferably within critical infrastructure or mission-critical environments.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- OSHA 510, EM 385, and NFPA 70E certifications preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CSHP (Certified Safety & Health Professional) preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards, as well as General Duty Clause requirements.
- Experience with incident investigation and reporting, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
- Experience developing and reviewing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs/JSAs) and conducting safety audits.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and enforcing safety standards in the field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively in field environments.
- Ability to build trust with site teams while maintaining accountability.
- Demonstrated ability to enforce safety standards while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience delivering or leading safety training programs.
- Background mentoring or supervising field teams on safety practices.
- Experience in mission-critical environments (data centers, industrial, etc.).
- Experience working with subcontractor safety compliance.

Location & Travel Requirements
El Paso, TX (site-based role)
- 100% site-based at a single project location (no routine travel required).
- Local candidates strongly preferred.
- Candidates must be willing to relocate to the El Paso area if not already local. Temporary relocation arrangements may be considered; however, candidates must be comfortable working on-site for an extended period, as the project is expected to run for several years. Relocation assistance available.
- Occasional limited travel may occur (minimal and project-dependent).
