Safety Manager

As a Safety Manager, you will work closely with PGT's truck drivers to ensure compliance with PGT and DOT regulations, encourage safe driving habits and oversee load securement. This role includes travel to various job sites, shipment locations and drop yards as needed. You will be responsible for reviewing load securement photos, coaching drivers and inspecting equipment to minimize potential violations or hazards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all transportation regulations, including DOT, FMCSA and CSA
• Display a complete knowledge of DOT and PGT load securement policies to properly instruct, review and approve a driver's work before transit
• Effectively coach drivers to adopt safer driving habits and reduce potential violations
• Provide ongoing support and assistance to drivers

Role Requirements

• Previous work experience in safety management or relevant education program
• Experience with the trucking industry is preferred
• Ability to travel to customer locations, job sites, PGT terminals and other driver rest areas
• Strong relationship-building skills to develop a safety-oriented fleet
