" PPE Required: Bridgestone will provide safety glasses and ear plugs. Candidate must provide own steel-toed shoes

Safety & Health Coordinator I (A9)

Position Summary:

Entry level HS&IH role assisting with all safety and health related activities for the facility, including promoting and supporting line-driven safety processes to help achieve the plant's safety and business objectives.

Role Responsibilities:

Assists in the development and implementation of a comprehensive safety management system

Assists in tactical follow-up and status reporting of outstanding audit, assessment and action items as assigned.

Coordinates industrial hygiene activities and works closely with safety and maintenance to document and retain applicable tracking records.

Implements improvements to safety programs, training, tracking and management systems

Helps coordinate the ergonomics program including risk identification and countermeasures

Assist plant engineering project managers with contractor ISN requirements

Other duties as assigned

Technical Expertise:

Possess a basic understanding of all federal, state, and local government regulations related to health, safety and industrial hygiene

Possesses some understanding of the basics of chemistry and toxicology

Business Knowledge:

Developing a general understanding of the HS&IH function and the products and services of the business supported

Applies standard techniques to provide solutions to problems involving a limited number of variables

Applies technical knowledge following established procedures and/or standard practices to perform basic analyses

Identifies problems, generates alternatives and recommendations within defined processes

" Preference for candidates who are either recent high school graduates (early career) or those seeking experience (similar to a co-op or internship) to build their resume
