POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Safety Health and Environment Manager your roles and responsibilities will include:
The SHE Manager will be the main EHS leader at the manufacturing facility, responsible for keeping the plant safe and environmentally compliant.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the site's Safety, Health & Environmental (EHS/SHE) programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and federal/state/local regulations
- Support and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001/OHSAS management systems
- Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective actions
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Facilities to improve safety
- Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Conduct safety and industrial hygiene assessments
- Review sampling/monitoring results and address exposure risks
- Develop and deliver EHS training to employees
- Lead emergency response programs and preparedness
- Advise plant leadership on regulatory compliance, facility design, equipment purchases, and safety improvements
- Build a strong safety culture across the manufacturing facility
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Safety Health and Environment Manager who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Safety Health and Environment Manager would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Occupational Health
- Environmental Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Or a related technical field
Experience- 5+ years of EHS/SHE leadership experience
- Must have experience in a manufacturing environment
- Chemical industry experience strongly preferred
Technical knowledge- OSHA
- EPA
- Federal/state/local EHS regulations
- ISO 14001
- ISO 45001 / OHSAS 18001
- Industrial hygiene
- Risk assessments
- Incident investigations
- Emergency response
Certifications- ASP or CSP preferred, but not mandatory
