SummaryMortenson is currently seeking a passionate Safety Engineer II who can interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever‑changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Safety Engineer will work to implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety program at a project site and ensure a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction work site.Must be open to 100% rotational travel with projects throughout the United States. 3 weeks onsite, 1 week off. Mortenson offers a generous mobility package to support our travelers.ResponsibilitiesImplement and administer safety programs at each worksite for team membersAssist project management team in developing and executing site‑specific safety programs and activitiesAttend, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programs at the project levelDocument and track all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc.Conduct work area safety auditsConduct project's leading and trailing indicator data/document collection and trend analysesConduct or assist with major incident analysisRecord, monitor, and analyze Safety, Injury, and Hazard statisticsCoordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or related fieldORHigh school diploma, STS/CHST Certification, OSHA 30‑Hour Training, and a minimum of seven years of continuous construction experience leading crews and planning work, including at least five years with responsibility for managing safety programs at the crew or project level, conducting and reviewing hazard analyses and developing controls, planning work activitiesMinimum of one year of related experienceDetail‑oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasksProficient in Microsoft Office and pertinent safety‑related software programsPositive and professional attitude with strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate company policies to team members and outside partiesStrong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skillsEffective public speaking and presentation skillsCurrent driver's licenseAbility to travel up to 100%A Few Benefits Offered Includefor Non‑Craft & Non‑Union Craft working 25+ hours / weekMedical and prescription drug plans that include no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer‑paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo‑Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work‑life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption assistanceGym membership discount programThe base pay range for this role is $81,000 MIN – $110,400 MAX.
