SummaryMortenson is currently seeking a passionate Safety Engineer II - Energy Storage who can interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever‑changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Safety Engineer will work to implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety program at a project site and ensure a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction work site.ResponsibilitiesImplement and administer safety programs at each worksite for team membersAssist project management team in developing and executing site‑specific safety programs and activitiesAttend, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programs at the project levelDocument and track all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc.Conduct work area safety auditsConduct project's leading and trailing indicator data/document collection and trend analysesConduct or assist with major incident analysisRecord, monitor, and analyze Safety, Injury, and Hazard statisticsCoordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or related field; ORHigh school diploma, STS/CHST Certification, OSHA 30 Hour Training, and a minimum of seven years of continuous construction experience leading crews and planning work, including at least five years with responsibility for managing safety programs at the crew or project level, conducting and reviewing hazard analyses and developing controls, planning work activitiesMinimum of one year of related experienceDetail‑oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasksProficient in Microsoft Office and pertinent safety‑related software programsPositive and professional attitude with strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate company policies to team members and outside partiesStrong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skillsEffective public speaking and presentation skillsCurrent driver's licenseAbility to travel up to 100%BenefitsMedical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo‑Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work‑life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount ProgramCompensationThe base pay range for this role is $81,800 - $110,400. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
