Monday-Friday
Typical hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Potential for overtime and occasional weekend work
Project Scope The Construction Safety Director will oversee safety operations for a General Contractor supporting new ground-up construction projects along with select rehab and remodel projects. Project types include fire stations, hospitals, multi-family housing developments, office buildings, and commercial facilities.
This role will support approximately 10-15 active projects, all located within a 1-hour radius of Minneapolis, MN.
Qualifications
BCSP Certification OR a 4-Year Safety Degree required
OSHA 500 Certification required
5+ years of construction safety experience required
Experience overseeing multiple active construction projects simultaneously preferred
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
Lead incident investigations and corrective action initiatives
Develop and execute site-specific safety plans
Coordinate jobsite visits with the Safety Coordinator to ensure each site is visited at least twice per week
Complete safety documentation, planning tasks, and reporting remotely as appropriate
Attend office meetings and support operational safety initiatives
Manage safety incentive programs focused on proactive safety performance
Oversee workers' compensation and vehicle claims management
Administer return-to-work and restricted duty programs
Lead or participate in Safety Committee activities
Administer and manage the Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) program
