Safety Director

The Safety Director will be responsible for:

• Leading and managing all safety operations across multiple business units and project sites.
• Serving as the organization's senior safety professional and trusted advisor to leadership.
• Developing, implementing, and continuously improving company-wide safety programs and procedures.
• Overseeing workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and safety-related administration.
• Leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action initiatives.
• Driving risk management efforts to minimize incidents and improve operational performance.
• Delivering and overseeing comprehensive safety training for field and office personnel.
• Mentoring, developing, and supporting members of the safety team.
• Conducting regular site visits to ensure compliance, engagement, and best practices.
• Partnering with project teams to foster a proactive, safety-first culture across all operations.

A successful Safety Director should have:

• Proven experience leading safety programs within construction, infrastructure, or heavy civil environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop safety professionals and field teams.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety compliance standards.
• OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications required.
• OSHA Authorised Trainer credentials required.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications required.
• Flagger certification required.
• Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) certification required.
• Telehandler training and certification required.
• Experience with incident investigations, workers' compensation, and risk management.
• Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
• Experience as both a field safety professional and safety manager/director is highly preferred.
