Position Overview
Keystone Concrete Placement is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to help maintain a safe and compliant work environment across our operations. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring workplace safety through the implementation and maintenance of safety programs, inspections, training initiatives, and regulatory compliance efforts.
The ideal candidate will have experience in construction safety, a strong understanding of OSHA regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively support employees, supervisors, and leadership teams in fostering a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Program Management & Compliance
- Monitor company safety policies and programs to ensure compliance and adherence.
- Review existing safety procedures and recommend changes to regular activities as needed.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and applicable safety regulations.
- Analyze health and safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Training & Employee Development
- Coordinate and conduct safety training programs for employees, supervisors, managers, and company leadership.
- Facilitate new employee safety orientation programs.
- Promote awareness of health and safety standards throughout the organization.
- Support safety education initiatives and ongoing employee training efforts.
Jobsite Inspections & Risk Assessments
- Conduct workplace audits to identify potential hazards and causes of injury.
- Perform jobsite safety evaluations across multiple work areas.
- Complete risk assessments and gather information regarding safety concerns.
- Monitor and inspect personal protective equipment (PPE) when applicable.
- Distribute safety equipment to employees as required.
Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions
- Conduct internal investigations related to workplace accidents and incidents.
- Ensure timely reporting and documentation of incidents.
- Identify contributing factors and root causes.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Emergency Preparedness
- Develop site-specific emergency response plans.
- Coordinate with emergency personnel and respond appropriately when needed.
- Support emergency preparedness initiatives and safety response procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- OSHA 30 Certification (OSHA 500 Preferred)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a safety role, preferably within the construction industry
- Ability to work effectively as a team player
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Effective critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Efficient time-management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Safety experience: 3 years (Required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Structural commercial construction experience
- Bilingual communication skills
- Train-the-Trainer status
