Safety Coordinator - Direct Hire
Location: Tulsa, OK
Pay: $22-$25 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM, 50 hours per week
Job Type: Direct Hire

Safety Coordinator - Must-Have Requirements
  • 30-Hour OSHA General Industry certification
  • 30-Hour General Industry Outreach Trainer certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean and acceptable MVR
  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent safety experience and training
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety
  • Experience conducting safety meetings, inspections, employee training, and accident investigations
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, steel, fabrication, or industrial environment preferred
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work safely around moving equipment, machinery, steel, and material-handling equipment
  • Comfortable working on the shop floor in a safety-sensitive industrial environment
Safety Coordinator - Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to support safety operations in a busy steel fabrication shop. This is a hands-on, shop-floor position responsible for promoting safe work practices, maintaining OSHA compliance, conducting inspections and safety training, identifying hazards, and assisting with accident and incident investigations.

The Safety Coordinator will work closely with employees and supervisors to identify potential hazards, communicate safety expectations, and ensure corrective actions are completed. The ideal candidate is comfortable being on the shop floor, interacting with employees, and addressing safety concerns in a professional and direct manner.
Safety Coordinator - Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety requirements
  • Conduct regular shop-floor safety inspections and hazard assessments
  • Identify unsafe conditions, equipment hazards, and unsafe work practices
  • Follow up on corrective actions to ensure safety issues are addressed
  • Conduct and document regular safety meetings and toolbox talks
  • Provide employee training on OSHA requirements, PPE, equipment safety, and safe work practices
  • Assist with new-hire safety orientations
  • Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, and near misses
  • Document findings and assist with determining preventative measures
  • Maintain accurate OSHA, training, inspection, and incident records
  • Monitor proper use of PPE and safety equipment throughout the shop
  • Help identify and address hazards related to welding, cutting, fabrication, lifting, material handling, and machinery
  • Communicate safety concerns and recommendations to supervisors and management
  • Assist with emergency response procedures and safety planning
  • Conduct follow-up inspections to verify corrective actions have been completed
  • Maintain required safety documentation and reports
  • Help ensure employees understand and follow established safety procedures
  • Deliver safety equipment and supplies to work sites or company locations as needed
  • Travel to work sites or other company locations as needed
Safety Coordinator - Additional Qualifications
  • Previous Safety Coordinator, Safety Specialist, EHS, or industrial safety experience preferred
  • Steel fabrication, welding, manufacturing, construction, or industrial safety experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with OSHA General Industry standards
  • Knowledge of machine guarding, PPE, lockout/tagout, fall protection, hazard communication, and material-handling safety
  • Experience working around cranes, forklifts, welding equipment, fabrication equipment, and heavy materials preferred
  • Strong employee training and communication skills
  • Ability to address safety concerns professionally and confidently
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on safety issues
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on the shop floor and around industrial equipment throughout the workday
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
