We are currently seeking a Permanent Safety Coordinator to join our dynamic team in the Engineering industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about safety and has a keen eye for identifying potential hazards. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, and maintenance of our company's safety programs. They will also play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all staff members. This position requires a high level of responsibility and accountability, and is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including Cal-OSHA industrial safety standards and guidelines.
2. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure safety measures are in place.
3. Lead incident investigations and complete detailed incident reports, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
4. Conduct safety training sessions, including first aid, forklift operation, and other safety-related topics.
5. Coordinate and participate in safety committee meetings and activities.
6. Maintain records of safety-related incidents and prepare statistical reports for management.
7. Work closely with management and employees to foster a safety-conscious culture within the organization.
8. Ensure all tools, machines, and equipment used in steel fabrication processes, along with rigging and other industrial work tasks, are used safely and maintained properly.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a safety role within the engineering or industrial sector.
2. Certified in First Aid and Forklift operation.
3. Proven experience with incident reporting and investigation.
4. Strong knowledge of tools, machines, and equipment used in steel fabrication processes, along with rigging and other industrial work tasks.
5. Thorough knowledge of Cal-OSHA industrial safety standards and guidelines.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
10. Proactive attitude with a strong desire to improve existing safety standards and procedures.
11. Bachelor's degree in safety management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
