Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator supports the Company's safety, health, and environmental programs by assisting with compliance activities, training, inspections, incident investigations, and workers' compensation administration. This position works closely with managers and employees to promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and Company safety requirements across multiple locations.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects while supporting safety initiatives throughout the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist in the implementation and administration of Company safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Conduct facility inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments to identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with accident, injury, near-miss, and workers' compensation investigations and maintain related documentation.
• Coordinate injury reporting, return-to-work activities, and workers' compensation claim administration.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, DOT, and Company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with the development and delivery of safety training, new hire orientations, and employee awareness programs.
• Maintain safety records, training documentation, inspection reports, and regulatory compliance files.
Participate in safety committee meetings and support site safety initiatives.
• Track corrective actions and follow up to ensure timely resolution of identified safety concerns.
• Support regulatory inspections and assist with responses to audit findings and corrective actions.
• Prepare and distribute safety metrics, reports, and trend analysis for leadership review.
• Travel to Company locations as needed to support safety and compliance activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of safety, workers' compensation, risk management, or compliance experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, injury prevention programs, and workplace safety practices.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, investigations, and training preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
