Description

Manufacturing company in Harleysville, PA is looking for an experienced Safety Coordinator. This is a permanent/direct hire position. You must have 3-5 years of Safety experience!

Job Responsibilities

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   

o   Interact with all  employees in person, virtually only when necessary, and by email as follow-up and documentation.

o   Mentor to all first line supervisors as related to all EHS issues and responsibilities. 

o   Develop formal training for large groups and small departments and write new policies and procedures.

o   Follow up with one-on-one training and reinforcement.

o   Develop or obtain a Learning Management System (LMS) to document all training, including one-on-one, small group, annual refresher, and corrective action training.

o   Work with supervisors and managers to complete corrective actions recommended by safety audits and incident investigations. 

o   Develop and maintain a modern (electronic, software, computer-based) inspection system for documenting all inspections.

o   Evaluate a Behavior Based Safety System.

o   Continually lead improvement efforts to ensure that Safety is a priority.

o   Other tasks and projects as assigned by management. 

 


 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering or Human Resources.
  • Possess a CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or equivalent certification.
  • Must maintain an excellent knowledge of OSHA regulations and determine applicability.
  • Also remain familiar with other applicable regulations including US DOT, EPA, PA DEP, NFPA
  • Must keep informed of new and revised safety regulations and OSHA Emphasis Programs
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability to understand basic mechanical terms and requirements, such as for Lock Out / Tag Out procedures and audits.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to develop timelines and meet deadlines.
  • Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and be flexible and adaptable
