About the Role

The Safety Coordinator plays a key role in promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment within the distribution center. This position partners closely with Operations, Human Resources, Security, Maintenance, and associates to foster a positive safety culture through coaching, employee engagement, training, inspections, and incident prevention.

The successful candidate is a visible leader who spends most of their time on the warehouse floor building relationships, identifying hazards, supporting operations, and helping associates perform their jobs safely. This role reports directly to the Safety Manager.

Shift Schedule: Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Friday: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Saturday: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Sunday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Occasional overtime may be required to support training, incident investigations, special projects, or business needs.

You'll Make a Difference By

  • Promoting a positive safety culture through daily interaction with employees and leadership.
  • Conducting routine warehouse safety inspections and hazard assessments.
  • Identifying unsafe conditions and behaviors and working collaboratively with Operations to implement corrective actions.
  • Investigating workplace incidents, near misses, property damage, and safety concerns.
  • Completing timely and accurate incident documentation.
  • Assisting with OSHA recordkeeping and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Facilitating new hire safety orientation and ongoing employee safety training.
  • Conducting safety observations and behavioral coaching on the warehouse floor.
  • Performing ergonomic assessments and recommending process improvements to reduce injury risk.
  • Assisting with return-to-work and injury management activities.
  • Conducting routine inspections of emergency equipment including eyewash stations, first aid supplies, AEDs, fire extinguishers, and emergency exits.
  • Supporting contractor safety, visitor safety, and facility compliance requirements.
  • Participating in safety committee meetings and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Maintaining safety records, inspection reports, and training documentation.
  • Assisting during emergency response situations and coordinating with emergency responders when necessary.
  • Supporting special projects as assigned by the Safety Manager.
  • Assisting with other responsibilities based on business needs.

About You

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of safety experience in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, and work throughout a large warehouse for extended periods.

Preferred

  • Associate''s or Bachelor''s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
  • OSHA 30 General Industry.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
  • Experience in distribution, fulfillment, or warehouse operations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
