Job Summary:

The employee fulfilling this job is accountable to the Special Education Supervisor and is responsible for the classroom instruction of students with IEPs. The employee will be held to the Highly Qualified requirements of teaching. Expectations include a pleasant and professional demeanor, a positive attitude, and an outgoing personality. The employee must also maintain confidentiality and engage in professional development as required by the State of Michigan.

Requirements:

Education and/or certification:

a. Valid Michigan teaching certificate

b. Special Education endorsement in any disability area

c. General Education Certification in a core academic subject

d. Michigan's highly qualified Special Education teacher requirements
