Job Title: Right of Way Agent
Job Description
The Right of Way Agent supports critical utility infrastructure projects by securing the property rights needed for the construction, reconstruction, relocation, and improvement of electrical, pipeline, and communication facilities. This role works directly with property owners and key stakeholders to negotiate easements and property agreements that keep engineering and construction projects on schedule. The Right of Way Agent conducts ownership research, prepares and processes legal documents, manages easement acquisition, and maintains detailed project records while serving as the primary liaison between property owners and utility project teams throughout the acquisition process.

Work Environment
The role combines field and office work, offering a mix of on-site property visits and desk-based research and documentation. The Right of Way Agent frequently interacts with property owners, contractors, engineers, attorneys, developers, and utility stakeholders, creating a highly relationship-driven environment. The position supports fast-paced engineering and construction projects, requiring responsiveness to changing priorities and schedules. Significant local travel is expected, with up to 70% travel during peak project periods. The role provides a high level of ownership over assigned territories and projects, allowing the Right of Way Agent to manage their schedule independently while coordinating closely with multiple teams to meet project deadlines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
