Gaines Investment Trust is seeking an experienced Roving Maintenance Technician / Project Specialist to provide maintenance support to multiple apartment communities throughout the North Dallas and Plano area.
Based out of Greyson's Gate Apartments, this position is ideal for a highly skilled maintenance professional who enjoys variety, solving complex maintenance challenges, and supporting multiple communities. You'll play an important role in maintaining our apartment homes while assisting with renovations, capital improvements, and special projects across the portfolio.
What You Will Do
- Perform maintenance repairs and service requests at multiple Gaines Investment Trust communities
- Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, and general maintenance issues
- Complete work orders efficiently while delivering outstanding customer service
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine property inspections
- Assist with apartment turns, including painting, cleaning, repairs, and preparing homes for new residents
- Support apartment renovations, capital improvement projects, and special assignments
- Maintain pools, amenities, common areas, and community curb appeal
- Communicate professionally with residents regarding maintenance requests and project updates
- Coordinate repair priorities with onsite property management teams
- Work alongside maintenance teams, vendors, and contractors on specialized repairs
- Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance emergencies
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the portfolio
What You Will Bring
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Residence within the North Dallas/Plano area
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- HVAC Certification (Required)
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification (Required)
- Three or more years of multifamily or related maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, painting, and pool maintenance
- Experience performing routine property inspections
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across different communities
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple onsite teams
- Availability for rotational on-call responsibilities and occasional after-hours emergencies
- English fluency
