Roving Maintenance Technician

Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Roving Maintenance Technician for one of our clients property portfolios in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Qualified candidates will have 2-3 years of experience in with residential property maintenance experience performing general maintenance duties, work order sweeps/inspection work to include switches/outlets, faucets, minor sheetrock work, door repair/hinges and other general maintenance duties. This role is contract to hire (90 days before conversion).

Salary: $25-$30/hour DOQ.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 830AM – 5PM.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide a variety of skilled building maintenance including repairs to sinks, windows, floors, and other parts of the building.
• Maintains the grounds as assigned which may include trash pick-up, shoveling, and sweeping curb/dumpster area, maintaining landscape beds and other areas – this will be 50% of the workload and job duties.
• Preparation of vacant units for occupancy which may include cleaning responsibilities.
• Install, repair (including soldering) and maintain various plumbing; heating and air conditioning fixtures; perform metal fabrication and welding.
• Installation and repair of major and minor appliances (e.g. washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwashers, etc.).
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues, diagnose problems, replace and/or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments to ensure issues are resolved.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs as needed.
• Complete minor work orders such as snake toilets/drains, repair/replace leaking faucets, remove/replace caulking, replace different components of toilets, adjust/replace door closures, and replace locks, deadbolts, and passage locks.
• Always demonstrate courteous and efficient customer service.

Qualifications and Experience:

• At least 2 years experience in residential/multi-family maintenance – preventative, work orders and unit flip experience is required.
• Must possess the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Maintain professional environment and appearance.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation as this role will be roving to multiple properties.
• Be able to pass a background check before employment.
