Route Accounting SpecialistThe Route Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting daily route settlement activities, cash reconciliation, driver audit processes, and financial record maintenance. This role works closely with delivery drivers, route accounting teams, warehouse personnel, and management to ensure accurate reconciliation of cash, inventory, and delivery documentation.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of researching and resolving discrepancies while maintaining compliance with company policies and internal controls. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, accurate recordkeeping, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced distribution environment.Job DutiesRoute Settlement & ReconciliationResearch and resolve driver overages and shortages involving cash and product loadsReview and verify end-of-day driver settlement paperworkRun daily route status reports to confirm all delivery routes have settledReview settlement exception reports and resolve discrepanciesCommunicate settlement issues with Route Accounting teamsProcess driver check-in and check-out communicationsCash Handling & DepositsPerform cashiering duties and verify Fed-Ready deposit statusMaintain security and accountability of route cashValidate compliance with cash drop proceduresReceive and verify full-service bag countsCount cash receipts and finalize handheld settlementsPrepare deposits for armored car pickupMaintain cash reconciliation and driver deposit logsDocumentation & ComplianceEnsure proof-of-delivery documentation is included in driver settlement paperworkPrepare driver paperwork for imaging and record retentionMaintain driver compliance logs, including DOT and DVR documentationMaintain missing document logs and conduct follow-up activitiesPerform driver audits in accordance with internal control requirementsAccounting & ReportingMaintain records within route accounting systemsResearch mailed payments and code documentation appropriatelyPrint and maintain supporting payment documentationGenerate reports and documentation for accounting and compliance purposesInventory & Systems SupportTroubleshoot handheld device issues affecting settlementsPartner with warehouse inventory personnel to resolve system reconciliation discrepanciesReconcile inventory and sales accounting variancesSupport system accuracy and process improvementsSafety & ComplianceAdhere to company safety policies and PPE requirementsParticipate in required facility screening and safety proceduresMaintain compliance with company operational and security standards**Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.** **Please note that all Position start dates and duration are estimates and may be reduced or lengthened based upon a client's business needs and requirements.**
