This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with data, coordinating logistics, and making a direct impact on daily operations. You'll help balance route efficiency, transportation costs, driver productivity, and customer service while identifying opportunities to improve our processes.
You don't need to know every routing system on day one. We're looking for someone with strong organizational and analytical skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to take ownership of their work.
What We Offer
We value our employees and recognize the important role they play in our continued success. Our compensation and benefits include:
Competitive salary: $54,000–$60,000 per year
Health insurance
Dental insurance
Vision insurance
Generous PTO and Paid Holidays
401(k) retirement plan
3.5% employer retirement match
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, during standard business hours.
What You'll Do
As our Route Planner & Logistics Coordinator, you'll help ensure our drivers have efficient routes, clear schedules, and the information they need to serve our customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Plan and optimize daily pickup routes: Build efficient routes based on customer locations, pickup volumes, service requirements, and operational priorities.
Coordinate driver schedules: Plan and organize daily route assignments to support transportation needs and maintain efficient operations.
Improve efficiency and control costs: Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary mileage, minimize wasted time, and improve driver productivity.
Monitor route performance: Track driver progress, review performance metrics, and follow up on delays, discrepancies, and route variances.
Support customer service: Help ensure pickups are completed efficiently while accounting for customer needs and changing operational requirements.
Analyze data and report results: Maintain accurate records, review route performance, and communicate key information and improvement opportunities to management.
Solve problems and adapt: Adjust routes and schedules when challenges arise and develop practical solutions to keep operations moving.
Recommend process improvements: Identify changes that can improve routing processes, productivity, and overall transportation performance.
Handle administrative responsibilities: Complete data entry, respond to emails, maintain accurate information, and support other logistics-related activities.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who takes initiative, thinks critically, and enjoys bringing order and efficiency to a busy operation. You should be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and communicating with drivers, coworkers, and management.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, and follow through on issues.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Willingness to learn new systems, adapt to changing needs, and complete required assessments.
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
Route planning or optimization.
Logistics, dispatch, or transportation coordination.
Scheduling, fleet coordination, or operations support.
Data analysis, reporting, or process improvement.
Transportation management systems (TMS) or routing software, such as Route4Me or Samsara.
Don't have direct routing experience? If you have strong organizational skills, are comfortable working with data, and enjoy solving operational problems, we encourage you to apply. The right candidate can learn the systems and processes needed to succeed.
