The Garden Assistant will play a key role in organizing and training participants and volunteers in all aspects of gardening, including planting, cultivation, and ongoing maintenance. This position will also emphasize the development of essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and shared responsibility through hands-on learning experiences. In addition to skill-building, the Garden Assistant will support efforts to grow fresh produce for the shelter kitchen, contributing to healthier meal options and improved overall wellness for participants. In addition, the Garden Assistant will attend Peer Support Specialist and Addiction Recovery training and may pursue certification through the State of Oregon to further enhance their ability to support participants and volunteers.
