SUMMARYPerforms all operations of the rod process technician assuring that area meets all federal and local regulations. Monitors all supporting processes assuring safe operation and compliance. Performs daily lift truck safety check sheet and ensures safe operation of their equipment. Supports the organization’s SAFE OPERATIONS ZERO HARM program by working daily to ensure assigned areas of responsibility are working within the scope of all process rules and procedures and by taking a proactive approach to mitigating risk.
Schedule:7:00PM - 7:00AM, Monday - Thursday
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.Other duties may be assigned.
Rod Process Technician- Satisfactorily completes Rod Process Technician training class.
- Understands steel rod cleaning and coating related to quality and efficiency of subsequent production processes.
- Understands and satisfactorily performs all procedures outlined in Rod Process Technician SOP related to Rod Hauling
- Inspects rod prior to delivery for cleaning. First In-First Out method.
- Completes fork truck check list before operation.
- Staging of rod behind machines and in other assigned locations, procedures for minimizing scrap. Responsible for housekeeping.
- Understands and satisfactorily performs all procedures outlined in Rod Process Technician SOP related to Tank Maintenance..
- Satisfactorily performs test procedures as outlined in process control parameters. Based on test results understands and performs corrective action if indicated.
- Safely and efficiently perform cleaning/coating procedures documented in Rod Process Technician Process SOP.
- Reports any problems, damage or inoperable equipment to manager
- Maintains process quality parameters and associated record keeping requirement.
Supporting Processes- Monitors equipment for proper process water disposal in conjunction with the cleaning operation.
- Understands and satisfactorily performs all procedures outlined in SOP’s related to process water disposal to operate within set parameters to meet standard requirements.
- Performs proper process and equipment adjustments to maintain set parameters.
- Perform periodic cleaning of the process equipment.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCEThe education requirements and experience requirement listed here indicate the minimum basic educational knowledge and minimum previous work-related experience required by the job duties of the position.
Education:High School diploma or equivalent; ability to complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions. Should have good arithmetic skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals. Computer knowledge using MS. Word office products.
