Job Title: Robotics Technician - Travel Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Robotics Technician for a dynamic role involving assembly on automated assembly lines. This floating position involves transitioning from one line to another as each is being commissioned. This position is a perfect fit for those with experience in manufacturing assembly, robotics, and automation.

Shifts Available* 

3:00pm – 11:30pm, Monday – Friday  

11:00pm – 7:30am, Monday – Friday  

  

*All shifts/employees can expect to work at least 50-55+ hours per week, but that will be on 2 Saturdays a month & voluntary Sundays   

*Will train on 1st shift for 3 weeks – 7:00am – 3:00pm 

Per Diem/Travel Information

  • Candidates that qualify for per diem will receive $150/day, 7 days per week
    • Per diem will be expected to cover food/lodging while in Decatur
  • This is a 6+ month contract on site in Decatur, IL
    • Travel to the site will not be provided
    • Transportation to/from the work site each day will not be provided

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly operations on automated manufacturing and assembly lines.
  • Read and interpret schematic diagrams, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.
  • Operate and monitor automated production equipment and industrial robotic systems, including KUKA and FANUC robots.
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues to minimize downtime.
  • Assemble vehicle components, including front wheel assemblies and brake systems.
  • Utilize torque tools and specialized torque equipment to ensure proper assembly specifications are met.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, lifting devices, and other material handling equipment.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools to complete assembly and production tasks.
  • Perform quality inspections using gauges, measuring devices, and testing equipment.
  • Conduct electrical testing using various electrical testing instruments and equipment.
  • Follow standardized work instructions, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and workplace safety standards.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an assembler in mechanical, electrical, or automation fields.
  • Familiarity with automation or automated production processes.
  • Experience in operating cranes and using lifting devices.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and torque tools.
  • Comfortable working with new processes that require troubleshooting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with automated assembly line processes.
  • Knowledge of PLCs such as Allen Bradley.
  • Experience with Fanuc, ABB, or KUKA robots.
  • Robotics and automation mechanical component experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
