    Description

The Amazon Robotics Finance team supporting the OIS (Operations Infrastructure Solutions) business is seeking a Financial Analyst II to support financial planning, controllership, and reporting across a $180MM OPEX and $524MM CAPEX portfolio for one of Amazon"s most strategically complex infrastructure that support WW Fulfilment network, Amazon Robotics program, device, and automation programs.

This is a high-visibility, blended FP&A and Finance partnering role team that partners directly with senior Operations and Finance leadership. You will own the execution of core financial workflows while contributing to strategic work including capital planning, cost-to-serve analysis, and monthly financial reviews. The ideal candidate is analytically sharp, operationally disciplined, and comfortable operating in ambiguity within a fast-paced infrastructure finance environment.

    Key job responsibilities

This is a blended FP&A and Finance partnering role. You will own recurring analytical and controllership workflows while serving as a proactive financial thought partner to OIS business and program leaders.

    • Opportunity Program Management: Own monthly reporting and tracking across OIS programs (upwards of $100MM annually)
    • Monthly Financial Review (MFR): Support month-end close and narrative preparation for OIS OPEX; maintain the Page 0 summary workbook, validate actuals vs. plan, and provide variance commentary
    • Capital Approval Review (CAR): Support the capital request workflow; validate spend type classification (CAPEX vs. OPEX), budget alignment, and financial documentation quality
    • Headcount & OPEX Planning: Maintain headcount roster and HC plan vs. actuals tracking; support OP1/OP2 and guidance cycle with OPEX scenario modeling and cost center analysis
    • Finance Partnering: Act as a day-to-day financial thought partner to OIS vertical leads (Network, Device, Automation, Infrastructure Reliability); translate operational activity into financial performance narratives and support QBR for leadership review materials
    • Financial Modeling & Automation: Build and maintain financial models and automated reporting tools
    • Controllership: Execute SOP-98 capitalization tracking, GRC control reviews, and open PO accrual analysis; ensure financial data integrity across reporting cycles

    A day in the life

Your day begins with reviewing opportunity submissions, flagging delinquencies, and maintaining the Page 0 operating expenses workbook. You draft variance commentary for the Monthly Financial Review and coordinate capital approvals with program owners. As close approaches, the tempo sharpens - you run the SOP-98 credit reconciliation, validate headcount actuals against plan, and assemble the MFR narrative package for leadership. Between cycles, you pursue process automation opportunities, leveraging AI tools embedded in the team"s workflows to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy at scale.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
