    Description

    Shape the future of mobility in Augusta, GA

    Step onto the production floor at Nemak and take ownership of robotic straightening cells and fully automated grinding lines. As the go‑to technician, you’ll blend precision, safety, and problem‑solving to keep high‑quality parts moving—every hour, every shift.

    A day in this role

    Your day begins by verifying machine status, prepping belts and tools, and reviewing quality specs. You’ll launch production runs, watch for trends in part quality, and make targeted adjustments to maintain tight tolerances. When something drifts, you troubleshoot fast—resolving issues, performing routine maintenance, and documenting what you find. Throughout the shift, you coordinate with operators, quality, and maintenance to improve cycle times and product consistency, all while following strict safety procedures.

    What you’ll do

    • Run and oversee automated straightening machines and fully automatic grinding lines to achieve safe, efficient, and repeatable output.
    • Prepare, adjust, and replace grinding belts and cutting tools as required for each job.
    • Conduct post‑grind visual inspections and confirm parts meet specifications; fine‑tune processes to sustain quality.
    • Perform routine maintenance on grinding line equipment and rapidly troubleshoot faults to reduce downtime.
    • Maintain accurate logs for production counts, machine performance, and inspection results.
    • Partner with teammates to identify and implement continuous improvements.
    • Follow all plant safety regulations and procedures without exception.
    • Complete additional duties as assigned.

    Required education and experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 3 years operating automatic production lines.
    • 1 year in grinding applications.
    • Grinding Basics certification or training.

    Preferred education and experience

    • Apprenticeship training in manufacturing, machining, mechanical operations, industrial maintenance, or a related technical field.
    • ABB / Fanuc Robots Operating certification or training.
    • Hands‑on work with automatic straightening machines and fully automatic grinding lines.
    • Experience preparing belts, adjusting equipment, and changing cutting tools.
    • Background in visual quality inspection and maintaining production quality standards.
    • Experience troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance on grinding line machinery.

    • Strict adherence to all safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.

    • First Shift | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
    • Second Shift | Monday – Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
    • Third Shift | Monday – Friday | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
