Roadway Permitting Specialist

Pay Rate: $40 per hour

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Duration: 18 Months

Summary:

• Manages end-to-end roadway permitting and access approvals for power innovation projects
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and railroad requirements

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute roadway/railroad permitting strategies for power innovation projects
• Partner with Engineering Project Managers, Environmental Permit Managers, and consultants
• Plan contractor haul routes and access logistics
• Interface with local and state agencies to align traffic engineering and public safety

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum five (5) years’ environmental experience
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to negotiate agreements balancing risk, cost, and stakeholder expectations
• Strong working knowledge of roadway construction methods and restoration standards
• Experience coordinating with local/state agencies and railroad representatives
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general PC skills

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with maintenance-of-traffic planning
• Experience with oversize/overweight permitting systems
• Knowledge of bonding/insurance requirements and contract administration
