zTrip is seeking a proactive and safety-focused Road Supervisor to provide field leadership and operational support throughout the Las Vegas service area. This position serves as a vital link between drivers, customers, and management by responding to accidents, breakdowns, customer concerns, and other field-related issues while ensuring safe and efficient operations.
The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, highly organized, and comfortable making decisions in fast-paced environments. This role combines field supervision, driver coaching, roadside support, safety oversight, and operational problem-solving to help deliver exceptional service to both drivers and passengers.
Key Responsibilities
Incident & Accident Response
- Respond quickly to traffic accidents, emergencies, vehicle breakdowns, and operational incidents.
- Secure incident scenes when appropriate and coordinate emergency or support resources.
- Restore service safely and efficiently while following company procedures.
- Complete detailed accident and incident reports, including photographs and supporting documentation.
- Ensure timely submission of reports to management.
Driver Support & Customer Resolution
- Provide real-time assistance to drivers facing operational issues, customer complaints, or service challenges.
- Support the professional resolution of fare disputes and customer concerns.
- Communicate significant driver or customer issues to management.
- Serve as a trusted field resource while promoting company policies and service standards.
Safety Oversight & Driver Coaching
- Monitor driver performance and operating practices in the field.
- Address unsafe behaviors and policy violations through coaching and corrective guidance.
- Conduct spot inspections and field observations.
- Reinforce company safety procedures and operational expectations.
- Participate in driver counseling or corrective action meetings when needed.
Vehicle Inspections & Safety Compliance
- Conduct inspections of vehicles, safety equipment, and operational technology.
- Inspect camera systems, Mobileye equipment, electronic devices, and related safety technology.
- Verify required safety features, including child-lock compliance.
- Report equipment concerns and escalate safety-related issues appropriately.
Roadside Assistance & Fleet Support
Respond to roadside service requests and provide assistance when safe and appropriate, including:
- Changing flat tires
- Jump-starting batteries
- Assisting with vehicle lockouts
- Replacing bulbs or headlights
- Addressing minor operational issues
Additional responsibilities include:
- Coordinating towing services through approved vendors.
- Determining vehicle roadworthiness following service events.
- Removing unsafe vehicles from service and following escalation procedures.
- Documenting all roadside activity in the Supervisor Daily Report (SDR).
New Driver Development & Field Support
- Support newly leased drivers during their first 60 days.
- Provide guidance related to safety, technology, policies, and daily operations.
- Assist drivers with vehicle equipment, meters, camera systems, Ember units, and related technology.
- Collect feedback regarding driver experience, morale, and operational concerns.
- Escalate significant issues to management.
Training & Onboarding Support
- Assist with new driver orientation and onboarding programs.
- Facilitate or support training sessions as assigned.
- Support taxicab permit renewal training and compliance initiatives.
- Reinforce safety, customer service, and operational expectations.
Fitness-for-Duty Monitoring
- Remain alert to potential signs of fatigue, impairment, reduced alertness, or unsafe behavior.
- Follow company procedures for reporting and escalating fitness-for-duty concerns.
- Coordinate with management when drug or alcohol testing may be warranted.
- Take immediate action when necessary to protect public, passenger, and driver safety.
Video Review & Investigations
- Assist with reviewing in-vehicle camera footage related to accidents, complaints, and safety events.
- Support investigations with documented observations and findings.
- Maintain confidentiality of all driver, customer, and company information.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely Supervisor Daily Reports (SDRs).
- Document incidents, observations, roadside calls, actions taken, and outcomes.
- Record roadside assistance details, including:
- Cab number
- Driver name
- Location
- Type of assistance provided
- Total response and service time
- Ensure documentation supports operational, safety, insurance, and compliance requirements.
Operational Support
- Assist with office operations, traffic control, special projects, and facility support when needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support business objectives.
Qualifications
Required
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong written documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to coach and communicate effectively with drivers.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform roadside assistance tasks.
- Ability to operate mobile devices, safety technology, and vehicle systems.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
Preferred
- Experience in transportation, taxi, rideshare, fleet operations, safety, dispatch, or related industries.
- Previous supervisory or field operations experience.
- Experience providing roadside assistance or performing basic vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with camera systems, Mobileye technology, electronic meters, or transportation-related technology.
