    The Idaho State Tax Commission's Revenue Operations Division is recruiting for a Program Specialist to join our team. This position supports the division's operational excellence by monitoring quality and consistency, reviewing processes and procedures, researching and resolving complex issues, and providing analysis that helps improve day-to-day operations.

    The Program Specialist contributes to division initiatives and special projects, working collaboratively with subject matter experts and leadership to identify opportunities for improvement, take initiative in addressing operational challenges, and support continuous improvement across the division.

    Success in this role requires strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate is proactive, takes initiative to identify and address issues before they become larger problems, and is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as this position partners with teams across the division and agency to share ideas, evaluate processes, and recommend practical solutions that improve efficiency.

    This position is located in the Boise Office on the Chinden Campus, 11321 West Chinden Blvd, in Building 2.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Providing subject matter expertise on specific topics or areas such as IBML, Automated Software, or GenTax.
    • Implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and Agency standards.
    • Delivering training programs to educate employees on specific topics or skills.
    • Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff as needed.
    • Collaborating with other departments or teams to improve workflow and efficiency.
    • Preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management.
    • Participating in quality control and quality assurance activities.
    • Communicate effectively with team members, senior management, and other stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed and on the same page.
    • Providing expertise and solving problems that arise within the team or department, using knowledge and experience to find solutions.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Some knowledge of:

    Typically met by at least 6 months of experience in each of the following areas:

    • management practices;
    • program or project planning and implementation.

    Experience:

    • developing and evaluating policies and procedures.
