Pay Local: $65 - $75/hr
Pay Travel: $2500 - $3200 Gross weekly
Position Summary
The Telemetry RN will provide nursing care to adult patients in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards. The position requires strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac-care knowledge, along with the ability to assess patients, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team.
Key Duties
- Provide direct nursing care to adult telemetry patients in an acute-care hospital setting.
- Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and identify abnormal arrhythmias or changes in patient condition.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and promptly report significant clinical changes.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and other interventions according to physician orders and nursing protocols.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac status, oxygenation, and overall patient response to treatment.
- Recognize signs of cardiac deterioration and initiate appropriate interventions or escalate care when needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, medications, and patient progress.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
- Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, patient-safety practices, and applicable nursing standards.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and changes in patient acuity while maintaining quality patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent full-time equivalent experience within the last 3 years
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active California RN License
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Basic Arrhythmia Course required
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred
