Sadie G. Mays Health & Rehab is looking for a Registered Nurses (RN) Supervisor to join our evening team. The role is in a long-term care setting. This person will be a self-starter that possesses critical thinking skills. Has the ability to manage shifts and staff. Proven leadership is a must.
Responsibilities
The RN Supervisor position is to provide direct nursing care to residents while supervising the nursing activities for the assigned shift.
Tasks
- Perform nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards as observed by the registered nurse.
- Administer medication accurately, observing patient response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record and lack of negative outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patient and approved parties regarding plan of care.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team in coordination of the patient’s care.
- Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated.
- Have a solid understanding of and compassion for human behavior, and the psychological development of the aged.
- Monitor residents for pattern of decreased social interaction or signs of distress.
- Follow up on critical labs, order requests and physician notifications.
- Coordinate nursing care to accommodate residents person-centered plan of care including sleep schedule, social activities, and participation in other resident directed activities.
- Make rounds frequently in community during shift.
- Hold staff accountable to the standard of the community.
- Assist with medication pass when needed.
License/certifications
- Valid license as an RN in the state of Georgia.
Preferred Experience
- Three years of experience in long-term care settings.
