NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: RN School Nurse, Full-Time (Union)
Smith Middle School
WAGES: $62,723 - 75,078, depending on experience
SCHEDULE: • 183 Days per year; 7.5 Hours per day
QUALIFICATIONS:
- RN licensed by the State of Connecticut
- CPR/AED certified
- One year work experience within last five years, at a minimum
- Preference given to experience in school nursing, pediatrics or
emergency room care
- Confidence in medical procedures and diabetic management
- Experienced with electronic documentation and Google programs
DUTIES: Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the district nurses within the schools
- Provides emergency care for students and staff
- Assist in the daily nursing management of assigned health office.
- Administer prescribed medications.
- Document the nursing process.
- Assist with state mandated screenings.
- Assist with the maintenance of mandated physical exam and
immunization documentation.
- Being flexible regarding schedule to provide substitute nursing
coverage when needed within the district
