3E Tele RN
- # of Beds: 33
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: Depending on acuity: 1:4-6
- Required Certifications: BLS required
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 3E is generally the cardiac floor and has a mix population of post cardiac surgeries, thoracotomies (chest tubes), cardiac gtts, afib, ect. Also, medical popluation requiring tele monitoring.
- Are RN's required to titrate drips?: Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: All drips except pressors, paralytics, and TPA
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes - and most of the time they take an assignment
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes - 1:15ish for care techs
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Cpap, BiPap, and High flow on floor. Respiratory is in house and can assist. We do place patients on and off but RT sets the rates.
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RN's required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: We have centralized tele monitoring. However, RN's read strips once a shift, and if change in rhythms.
- Shifts & Scheduling: Self scheduling but subject to change to present a balanced schedule
- Weekend Requirements: 6 weekend shifts in a 6 week period
- Holiday Requirements: 2 summer and 3 winter
- Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: No
- Floating Requirements: Yes - may be pulled to the Floors
- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided?: Galaxy Blue
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1-2 shifts
