    Daily Parking is ***+/day. Multiple options for on/off campus garages and lots ranging from *** - *** with monthly pass.

    RN's need to be open to Floating!
    Busy/Large Level 1 Trauma
    Candidates need to be flexible on scheduling - no self scheduling
    EOW required
    EPIC required

    Successful placements here have 3+ years exp, pervious travel exp. and have worked in a very busy hospital in the past.

    Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:2, occassionally 1:1
    Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) ACLS, BLS
    Common diagnoses/Types of patients heart faliure, STEMI, Pulmonary emboli, arrhythmias, MICU overflow
    Experience or 'Must have' skills ventilators, managing pressors, hemodynamics (Client, CVP, arterial lines) Sheaths, IABP, Impella, CRRT, occasionally paralyze and sedate patients - BIS & TOF
    Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes
    Common titratable &/or set rate drips Epinephrine, norepinephrine, vasopressin, dobutamine, milrinone, amiodarone, cardene Giapresa occasionally
    Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes, goal is free charge but not often achieved
    Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? Patient care assistant support is minimal, one for all 18 beds if available. They assist with blood sugars, patient hygiene, turning, phone management, and supplies. Often used as sitters
    Hospitalist &/or Intensivist in house 24/7? In the ICU 24/7? CCU is not a closed unit yet. MICU patients are managed in an intensivist model. Cardiology patients vary but the CCU fellow is availalbe 24/7
    RT in ICU 24/7? Yes
    RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? Ventilator troubleshooting required, should be capable of interveningn in an emergency situation like self extubation or trach dislodgememnt, Must be able to sucton competently and identify issues requiring escalation.
    Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? RNs interpret their own strips. Client monitors in use.
    Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Self scheduling. Travelers fill in the open holes and work every other weekend. Attempts to accommodate schedule requests as much as possible while meeting the unit needs.
    Weekend Requirements every other may be occasional exceptions based on staffing needs
    Holiday Requirements Holidays are usually covered but days before and after will be required occasional
    Is there a call or standby requirement? no
    Floating Requirements First to float to similar units
    Scrub Color/Dress Code teal tops and bottoms, solid or coordination non terrycloth jackets
    How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? two 12 hour shifts
